Introduction to British Sign Language
This course can be adapted to meet the needs of our clients. For example, if you work in the customer services sector we can teach signs that are particularly useful when confronted with deaf members of the public. This course can be held in a half day (3 hours) or full day (5 hours + lunch break) format. It can be taken with deaf awareness training built in - see options.
Full-Day Course Objectives - As half-day plus:
New for 2006! - CACDP Accredited Course It is now possible for trainees to acheive an Introduction to BSL Certificate from CACDP. This follows the recent unitisation of the Level One BSL Course. Students will follow the curriculum for the first unit of this course (BSL101) which includes the following topics: - Exchanging basic personal information This is a two day course and is suitable for organisations wishing for trainees to receive nationally recognised credits for their training. Assessment for the award will be conducted by the course tutor. There will be £10 registration fee per student.
Sign Language and Deaf Awareness Day In this full day course students will achieve the half-day objectives shown above as well as receiving basic deaf awareness training. This course costs £329.
